After experiencing the Alaskan frontier for six years and the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico for three years, Tamara now lives in rural Ohio with her husband, Craig, and two daughters, Kathryn and Samantha. They breed and raise Sec B welsh ponies, welsh cross and quarter horses. As a life long horseman, the equine has given her joy and serenity through art and life encounters. The horses unsurpassed beauty extends beyond imagination. Using observation, photographs and imagination, Tamara works to develop pieces that inspire day dreams of summer slumber or the speed of the race.. Tamara is primarily self taught. She considers herself to be a realist and has experimented with many different mediums. Oils are the medium of choice as she loves the luminosity of the rich colors. In recent years, she has been commissioned to paint traditional oil painting portraits of horses and their owners, an heirloom to be passed from generation to generation. |
